Definitive : One Must Watch this before getting a job or starting a Career

There you go my next post after almost an year. I just graduated this year and I am actively looking out for a job. When you are a fresher just like me, You would definitely want to get motivated by this one. Don’t think that a few less than 18 minutes is gonna eat up your bandwidth. Just go for it. Its definitely worth it watching him explaining how things work than me describing it with my englepes.

I’m Back

It has been almost two years since I visited my WordPress account. And Now, I am back here as I am Quitting Facebook. Facebook,  a popular Social Networking website is just like a one of those addictive sites around the web in my point of view.

My Facebook History:

It all started with a simple application, Who has the biggest brain?  at the beginning of 2009. A simple and good application to begin with; that requires skill and strategy. Later, It ran in its own pace to me with addictive apps like MafiaWars and Farmville. At the end of 2009,  Facebook became very popular in India and started to be shown up in TV ads. The more it became popular the more their owners and apps and ad companies earned. But We (maybe myself alone ) are the ones that suffered the loss of resources especially the precious time. Yes, Of course,  It helped me to connect with my friends in an easy and attractive manner than Orkut and took over Google’s market with some good apps like Causes. But, Facebook was made more addictive in its own manner that people like me fell for it easily.

The Recent Discovery:

I am in holidays now. I’ve found this in myself these days. All over the last month, I usually start a day by logging ON to Facebook .I used to sit with it for hours sharing my own thoughts(not always) and some other stuffs, chatting with friends,  seeing their Pics, spending time on some applications, etc. Those days weren’t much productive at all. Simply it was just as the 4-S’s below.Social

  1. Switch ON the PC
  2. Sign In on Facebook and Sit for hours
  3. As the day ends, Sign Out of Facebook
  4. Shut Down the PC.

Once I found this, I said to myself  “Lets’s take a week off from Facebook”.

The week off from the Facebook:

I purposely stood outside from Facebook from the last week of previous month.  I made myself a strong will for two days and later on it became a usual without Facebook.  As a result, I found myself pulling off things at a nice manner than before. The days went off in a more productive manner as ever before.I spent it in downloading some study materials for the arriving semester, playing an online game 8-ball pool multiplayer in Miniclip and Angry Birds as offline in Chrome,  sometimes doing household chores, watching Giro D’Italia in online TV, reading some books, roughly cycling at times, using RSS feeds through Reader, playing volley ball, and end off  some days in a peaceful manner as I intended to be.

The Conclusion of quitting Facebook:

Later the week’s break was over. But, This time I am not interested to get into it once again and held myself back from Facebook. And few days went off in reading a little book; the dip by a famous Author Seth Godin of whom I am now a fan and will be forever. This great little book kindled my thoughts on quitting and I started it with Facebook. If not for some good old friends and my own pics collection  there, I would have deleted my account from Facebook long before. So, Still I am thinking whether to delete Facebook or to leave it unnoticed.

I believe that all my friends over there are doing fine as they used to be. Now, I think that a day would come when I will post this as a status in Facebook. But, leaving Facebook – NO rejecting Facebook is done from my side and will be terminated in a week or in a month.

Social  Networking is important than the Facebook:

But as a student of Computer Science, I need to be social networking and will be doing it here in WordPress rather than in useless Facebook. I will now be joining Twitter and using feeds to a larger extent and of course there is a lot other sites  like Facebook as  Flickr and Picasa for photo blogging.

Fimally, It seems that this, my second  “Hello world” like post in WordPress would be my “Good Bye” post to Facebook.
